Welcome Artemis Grace!
On Friday, September 13th, at 6:51am, Artemis Grace Lazar Shearer arrived after we all collectively powered through 30 hours of labor supported by a fantastic midwife team at UVM Medical Center. We had an amazing view over Lake Champlain, the Adirondacks, and the Green Mountains for a sunset, two sunrises, and a full Harvest Moon. Artemis is named after the goddess of that moon, who is also the protector of wilderness, the practice of midwifery, and the spirit of young women. This tiny one is a great sleeper, a fussy eater, and so strong and cute it sometimes hurts to look at her. We've been so well supported by so many of you, and your help has come at times when we've really needed it over these past two months. We're so grateful to be in this with you and to have your love and wisdom as we move forward in what is surely our greatest adventure!
Let us know if you're interested in seeing more photos of her and us. For the most part, we're using a simple app called Notabli (created by a friend here in Vermont!) to share photos rather than posting to Facebook. Here's the link to get permission to see more cute and fierce photos of this tiny Shazar babe!
